Sellivo or Kopy: which product importer suits your store?

Kopy and Sellivo solve different halves of the same job. Kopy is a cloning tool: paste a URL and the product page lands in Shopify seconds later — entire stores with thousands of items included, from 9.99 USD a month. Sellivo picks up where that ends: the imported raw data becomes original copy whose claims are checked against the source, plus AI product photos featuring the same model throughout, a compliance check for the German market and a push to Shopify or WooCommerce, from 19 euros a month. If you need a big catalogue fast, Kopy is the right call. If you want listings that do not look copied, Sellivo is.

01

What Kopy does well — and why so many people use it

Kopy (provider: VERSUS TECHNOLOGIES LLC, Camden, Delaware) is built for one thing and does it fast: moving product pages from other people's stores into Shopify. The provider names eight sources — AliExpress, Amazon, Etsy, CJ Dropshipping, Alibaba, Shein, Temu and Shopify — and advertises that entire stores with 2,500 products and more can be taken over in three to five minutes.

On top of that come an AI rewriter for descriptions, a translation feature and a protection feature meant to shield your own store from spy tools. Prices are 9.99, 24.99 and 32.99 USD a month, each additional store costs 4.99 USD, and the trial runs three days.

For building a catalogue from scratch that is a strong offer, and the low entry price explains how widespread it is. If you want a thousand items in your store by the end of the afternoon, Sellivo will get you there more slowly.

02

Where the cloned catalogue becomes a problem

A clone is a copy, with everything that comes attached. The same description then sits in hundreds of stores, and Google decides which one ranks. The images belong to the source store, watermarks and model shots included. And the specifications only hold for as long as they hold in the source.

This is exactly where Sellivo comes in: the raw data is not adopted, it is used as a foundation. Title, attributes, variants and image content feed into original copy written in your chosen brand voice — and a second pass then checks every claim against the source data. Anything that cannot be substantiated is flagged rather than published. That check is the heart of the difference, because an AI that invents material compositions or measurements produces cease-and-desist letters in German retail.

With images, Sellivo goes a step beyond rewriting: it generates original product photos with a fixed, fictional model who stays identical across every image of a product. Nine shot types are available, from the cut-out to the on-model shot. A fact check compares the generated image with the original photo so that the colour is right.

03

Shopify alone, or Shopify and WooCommerce

Kopy is a Shopify app and works with Shopify only. If you also run a WooCommerce store, or plan to move there later, you need a second tool.

Sellivo pushes to both systems. Pushing again updates the product in the target store instead of creating a second one, and variable products arrive with their variants intact. Your product data stays maintained in one place, even with two sales channels hanging off it.

04

What counts for the German market

In Germany a catalogue is only ready to sell once the unit price, the manufacturer details and the product labelling are right. Sellivo checks every product against a fixed set of rules before the push and assigns a score; an error blocks the transfer instead of quietly letting it through.

Then there is brand replacement: the source store's brand disappears automatically from the brand field, title, description, bullet points and SEO fields, and yours takes its place. If you are building your own brand rather than passing other people's goods along, that saves you the search-and-replace round after every import.

05

What Sellivo cannot do

Sellivo is more expensive. 19 euros a month against 9.99 USD is roughly double, and anyone who only wants to move products across pays Sellivo for features they do not need.

Sellivo does not clone entire stores in minutes. Its import is built for single products, category pages and batches, not for taking over a whole third-party catalogue in one go.

And on sources Sellivo is narrower: it reads Shopify stores in full through a dedicated interface, variants and all images included. Large marketplaces such as Amazon, Temu or Shein, by contrast, return no usable data from a simple request — Sellivo says so openly instead of producing half an import. If you specifically need to import from there, Kopy serves you better.

There is also no feature that shields your own store from spy tools. All Sellivo can do is block your own store's catalogue data from crawlers.

06

The two do not rule each other out

There is nothing wrong with using Kopy to pull raw material into the store quickly and then building the items that actually sell into sales-ready listings with Sellivo. For many people that is the most honest route: test broadly, then invest in the winners.

If, on the other hand, you are building your own brand from the start and do not want to fight a price war against a hundred identical stores, you can skip the intermediate step.

FAQ

Is Sellivo a Kopy alternative?

For the part that comes after the import, yes. Both pull product data out of other people's stores. Kopy essentially stops there; Sellivo starts there: original copy with a fact check, original product images, a compliance check, and a push to Shopify and WooCommerce. If all you want to do is clone, you do not need Sellivo.

Why does Sellivo cost more than Kopy?

Because real computing work goes into every product: generating copy with a subsequent fact check and generating images each cost processing time at an AI provider. That is why Sellivo bills in credits — 500 in the starter plan for 19 euros. A plain import without AI steps uses no credits.

Can I import from Amazon, Temu or Shein with Sellivo?

Not reliably. These marketplaces return no usable product data from a simple request, and Sellivo reports that openly instead of creating half a record. Shopify stores, by contrast, are read in full, including all variants and images. If importing from those marketplaces is essential to you, use a tool built for it.

Can I use both tools side by side?

Yes. A common route is to test broadly with a cloning tool and then build the items that sell into sales-ready listings with Sellivo. Sellivo can import from your own Shopify store for exactly that.

What exactly does Sellivo's fact check do?

Once the AI has produced a text, a second pass holds every claim against the actual source data: variants, attributes, measurements, colours. Anything that cannot be substantiated there is flagged and not published. With images, the generated photo is additionally compared with the original so that the colour, for instance, is right.
